    This week at Calvert

    Hello Calvert Families,

-Every year we encourage all our families to complete a meal application. Even if you feel you will not qualify, it is important to complete the application. Our school receives much needed Federal funds based on the information you provide in the meal application. A paper form is available in the office. The application is also available online at www.myschoolapps.com. If you need any help, please contact the office.

-On Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., Computerwise Kids is offering a coding class called Code Club. All the details for this great learning opportunity are included in an attachment in your weekly email. Please take a look at the flyer. Code Club is free. There is a $45 fee that covers the registration for a competition that will take place in April. The class starts right away, so please don't delay.

-On Friday, September 28th, the PTA will be hosting an outdoor movie night on the field at 6:30 p.m. All the details for this fun family event will be coming home to you in a flyer this week.

-Please remember that attendance is a top priority for LAUSD. Our goal is for all students to attend school at least 96% of the time. This means that students will have no more than seven absences throughout the academic school year. We are partners with you, and we are here to support your child's education.

    Kind regards,

    Amanda Evans, Principal
